GP Sri Lanka ‘26 – Oration Submission
All CGPSL Orations are selected according to a structured and transparent process to ensure fairness and credibility. Double blinding will be used to eliminate any biases.
Dr MPM Cooray (College) Oration
The Oration will be held on Friday, 19th June 2026 evening at the Inauguration Ceremony of the GP Sri Lanka’26.
- Open for both Sri Lankans and non-Sri Lankans.
- Substantial amount of the Oration should be based on original research or work done in Family Medicine and/or Primary Care.
Dr Desmond Fernando Oration
The Oration will be held on Saturday, 20th June 2026 morning.
- Open for Sri Lankan Family doctors only.
- Substantial amount of the Oration should be based on original research or work done in Family Medicine and/or Primary Care in Sri Lanka.
Guidelines for Submission of Orations
- Orations based on work published in journals will be given priority.
- Applicants should submit an Abstract of the proposed oration, which is not more than 500 words. Use IMRaD format unless the content requires otherwise.
- For all research involving human subjects, please state regarding ‘ethical clearance’ in the Methods section. RCTs should have been registered in a WHO recognised Clinical Trial Registry.
- If the oration is based on publication/s and conference papers (oral/poster), they should be listed.
- A brief CV (not more than 3 A4 pages) should be uploaded.
- A declaration by the applicant is required if any part of the work included in the Abstract has already been presented as an oration or not.
- In case of multi-author research and publication/s, the applicant should inform the other authors of his/her presentation and should;
- i) provide details of the contribution to design, data collection, analysis and writing of the manuscript/s by the applicant.
- ii) declare that other authors of the presented research or publication/s have no objection to the submission of the oration.
- The Applicant should declare if any financial and other conflicts of interests is present.
